The MHPSS Specialist provides technical leadership, coordination, and quality assurance for mental health and psychosocial support interventions across multiple sectors in the Afar Region, ensuring integration with IASC guidelines and donor requirements while building local capacity and enhancing community resilience.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of MHPSS strategies aligned with IASC guidelines
- Oversee quality delivery of PFA, counseling, and community support services
- Build capacity of staff and community volunteers in stepped‑care models
- Coordinate with health, WASH, protection clusters and UN agencies
- Develop indicators, monitor performance, and report to donors
- Ensure safeguarding, gender equality, GBV risk mitigation, and inclusion
