The Food Assistance Officer manages the planning, distribution, and documentation of food and cash assistance in Gambella refugee camps, coordinating closely with partner agencies and supervising field staff to ensure effective delivery and compliance with humanitarian standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, delivery, and distribution of food and cash commodities in the field
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of commodities/cash using LMMS-ITS
- Prepare and approve distribution plans to enhance field operations
- Conduct inventory checks and manage returns to donor
- Monitor and report on project activities, maintaining records per World Vision manuals
- Supervise commodity officers, distributors, and incentive workers
- Coordinate with partner agencies such as WFP, UNHCR, and local leadership
