About the Role

The WASH Officer leads the implementation of water access projects in Tigray, overseeing site assessments, rehabilitation works, quality testing, and stakeholder engagement to ensure safe, sustainable water supply for affected communities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to 10 water access points for technical assessments
  • Assess well heads, casings, pumps, and surrounding infrastructure
  • Analyze geological and hydrogeological conditions and pump suitability
  • Prepare individual assessment reports with photographic evidence
  • Coordinate and supervise rehabilitation works at each site
  • Supervise construction of concrete aprons, drainage channels, cement screed, hand pump installation, and masonry fences
  • Collect and send water samples for laboratory analysis following WQT protocol
  • Liaise with local authorities, community committees, and government WASH offices
  • Prepare weekly and monthly technical progress reports and final completion documentation
