About the Role

Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care—including antenatal, delivery, postnatal services, surgeries, emergency response, and patient education—within Ethiopia’s maternal health framework.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete antenatal care, including regular check-ups and monitoring fetal development
• Conduct safe deliveries, including vaginal births and Caesarean sections
• Offer comprehensive postnatal care to mothers and newborns
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of gynecological conditions
• Perform gynecologic surgeries and procedures as necessary
• Provide family planning services and counseling
• Respond promptly to obstetric and gynecological emergencies
• Maintain accurate confidential patient records
• Collaborate with midwives, nurses, and other specialists for holistic care
• Participate in departmental audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients and families on reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth
• Mentor junior medical staff and residents
