The Billing Officer manages accurate patient and insurance billing to ensure timely revenue collection, while coordinating with clinical staff, insurers, and finance teams to maintain compliance and support the hospital’s financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate patient bills for all services
- Verify and correct billing information before invoicing
- Generate invoices, receipts, and credit notes
- Process insurance and corporate claims within required timelines
- Reconcile payments and monitor outstanding balances
- Maintain confidential billing records in HIS/EMR systems
- Provide customer service and resolve billing inquiries
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and Ethiopian regulations
