The Finance and Budget Officer will oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of medium-term plans and budgets for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, ensuring compliance with legislative mandates, securing approvals from intergovernmental bodies, and managing financial resources to support programmatic activities.
Responsibilities
- Review and finalize medium-term plans and budget proposals
- Provide support to intergovernmental bodies for plan and budget approval
- Manage and monitor budget implementation and reallocations
- Administer extra-budgetary resources and authorise payments
- Prepare budget performance reports and variance analyses
- Contribute to cost recovery planning and client services
- Offer training on budgeting policies to staff
- Participate in inter-departmental meetings and policy research
