About the Role

The Staff Assistant supports the Director of Administration & Conference Management by managing schedules, correspondence, research, and administrative processes to ensure efficient operations within UNECA’s Addis Ababa office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overall front office administration and workflow management for the Director and Division
  • Serve as communication link between supervisor and senior staff, conveying directives and updates
  • Manage Director’s calendar, scheduling and conflict resolution
  • Screen and prioritize incoming correspondence, preparing background documents
  • Research, compile and summarize materials for reports, briefs, speeches and presentations
  • Support Director in intergovernmental meetings and briefing preparations
  • Implement improvements to administrative procedures and systems
  • Organize official receptions, meetings and related arrangements
  • Handle confidential information and various administrative duties such as travel, visas and expense reporting
