The Occupational Health Officer develops, implements, and evaluates workplace health risk management policies, provides basic medical care to employees, monitors health data, coordinates first aid services, and advises management on health-related issues to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer first aid treatments and coordinate emergency care
- Provide consultancy on occupational illnesses and injuries
- Track and analyze accident/injury data to recommend preventive strategies
- Coordinate first aid training and supplies
- Recommend improvements to incident reporting procedures
- Advise managers on sickness, absence, and rehabilitation
- Monitor and record patient medical conditions
- Maintain clinic records and ensure proper retention
- Interpret diagnostic tests and verify medical certificates
- Ensure employees submit fit-to-work certificates
- Plan and conduct medical examinations for regular employees
- Manage medical supplies inventory and procure as needed
- Maintain clinic equipment and supplies
- Organize company-wide health meetings
- Prepare proposals for new healthcare initiatives
- Develop and evaluate occupational health procedures and policies
- Design health promotion programs and conduct employee training
