The Head of Cost Accountant designs and maintains a robust cost accounting system, oversees ERP implementation, analyzes operational costs, and provides detailed financial reports to support management decisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a cost accounting system ensuring accurate costing
- Assist in conversion from mainframe to ERP system
- Collect and analyze operational cost data
- Set and update standard costs for manufactured goods
- Carry out CVP analysis
- Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping
- Perform account reconciliations and prepare audit reports
- Review standard vs actual costs for variances
- Prepare monthly gross margin analysis by customer, part number and production jobs
- Analyze product design changes and their cost impacts
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities
