About the Role

The role involves designing, validating, and operationalizing context‑specific complementary food recipes for Moyale Woreda, Ethiopia, while producing culturally appropriate SBCC materials to promote optimal feeding practices among children 6–23 months and pregnant/lactating women.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inception meetings and develop detailed workplan
  • Map local food environment and assess affordability & seasonality
  • Model diets and design nutritionally optimized recipes for target groups
  • Validate recipes through household trials and sensory testing
  • Produce SBCC materials (print, audio, video) tailored to low-literacy pastoral communities
  • Engage local health and agriculture bureaus for institutional endorsement
  • Monitor adoption indicators and report findings
