Pharmacist

About the Role

The Pharmacist will oversee pharmacy operations for Samaritan’s Purse in Ethiopia, ensuring safe dispensing of medications, maintaining inventory and cold chain integrity, supporting clinical staff, and upholding high standards of care and compliance with national and WHO protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care services and technical supervision in accordance with SP and Ethiopian Government protocols
• Work closely with clinical staff to ensure safe, rational, and effective use of medicines
• Manage pharmacy operations, ensuring availability, organization, and continuous supply of essential medicines
• Maintain inventory control, recording, and reconciliation
• Prepare portable pharmaceutical kits for field activities
• Ensure proper storage conditions and cold chain integrity
• Safeguard pharmaceuticals against loss, theft, or misuse
• Support anti-fraud measures and infection prevention and control standards
• Report stock status, shortages, expiries, and related issues
• Promote safe medication use and patient counseling
