About the Role

The Logistics & Procurement Officer manages all procurement and logistics activities for Samaritan's Purse operations in Ethiopia, ensuring compliance with policies, efficient supply chain processes, and accurate record‑keeping to support program delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure transparent, accountable procurement following six rights of supply
  • Apply SP Procurement Policy and related procedures
  • Maintain procurement and vendor databases, track contracts and agreements
  • Coordinate transport with Logistics and Fleet teams for national and imported materials
  • Process payments and prepare electronic documentation per SP standards
  • Confirm delivery, issue Goods Received Notes, oversee dispatch to projects
  • Scan and submit procurement documents to Finance
  • Vet suppliers, maintain supplier files and approvals
  • Provide documentation for fixed assets to warehouse staff
  • Supply procurement data for operational planning
  • Maintain organized procurement records and ensure ethical conduct
  • Support Procurement Manager in improving supply chain procedures and emergency systems
  • Establish order and delivery management systems
  • Stay informed on local/national laws and ensure compliance
  • Manage vendor contracts and relationships
  • Offer onsite/remote support to field teams and facilitate payments
  • Assist program teams with procurement planning
  • Prepare and amend contracts as needed
  • Submit weekly/monthly procurement reports
  • Oversee fleet, asset, and resource tracking at the field level
