The Senior Accountant – Inventory manages all aspects of inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation, reconciliation, and reporting while collaborating cross-functionally to improve processes and maintain compliance.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory accounting records and ensure proper valuation of inventory
- Monitor inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and write-offs
- Prepare and reconcile inventory-related general ledger accounts on a regular basis
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reconciliations and financial closing activities
- Analyze inventory variances and investigate discrepancies to ensure data accuracy
- Support physical inventory counts and cycle count activities
- Prepare inventory-related financial reports and management reports
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, financial reporting standards, and internal controls
- Utilize data analytics and visualization tools to monitor inventory performance and identify trends
- Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory management, operational efficiency, and financial controls
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate inventory records
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reports
