Senior Accountant – M-PESA Finance

About the Role

Senior Accountant responsible for accurate general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance within Safaricom Ethiopia’s M-PESA Finance team, ensuring timely reconciliation of payroll, vendor payments, and tax obligations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements and cost center reports
• Ensure timely payroll reconciliation and vendor payments
• Validate invoices and maintain supplier communication
• Handle tax declarations (WHT & VAT) and statutory compliance
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities
• Provide financial analysis and trend reporting
