The Regional Surveillance Officer leads disease surveillance efforts across Bahir Dar and Dessie, coordinating with local partners, managing community-based programs, conducting outbreak investigations, and utilizing digital tools to strengthen early detection systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement surveillance strategies aligned with IR1 objectives
- Provide technical guidance to surveillance teams at regional and woreda levels
- Coordinate integration of surveillance activities with regional health priorities
- Establish and manage multi-sectoral community-based surveillance in HSA implementation woredas
- Conduct outbreak investigations and respond as needed
- Train staff on digital surveillance tools for real-time data collection
- Analyze surveillance data to identify trends and support reporting
