About the Role

The Regional Surveillance Officer leads disease surveillance efforts across Bahir Dar and Dessie, coordinating with local partners, managing community-based programs, conducting outbreak investigations, and utilizing digital tools to strengthen early detection systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement surveillance strategies aligned with IR1 objectives
  • Provide technical guidance to surveillance teams at regional and woreda levels
  • Coordinate integration of surveillance activities with regional health priorities
  • Establish and manage multi-sectoral community-based surveillance in HSA implementation woredas
  • Conduct outbreak investigations and respond as needed
  • Train staff on digital surveillance tools for real-time data collection
  • Analyze surveillance data to identify trends and support reporting
