The Import Export Assistant ensures compliance, documentation, logistics coordination, and financial processing for all import/export operations, supporting smooth cargo movement and regulatory adherence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, verify, organize, and maintain import/export documentation in compliance with Ethiopian regulations
- Apply for permits via Ethiopia Single Window system
- Draft commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, insurance and inspection certificates
- Coordinate logistics with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, and banks
- Track shipments and update management on status
- Monitor and control import costs including duties and demurrage
- Manage foreign exchange approvals and banking documents such as L/Cs and CADs
- Maintain accurate records and generate operational reports
- Support the Import/Export Manager and Logistics Head with general assistance
