About the Role

The Import Export Assistant ensures compliance, documentation, logistics coordination, and financial processing for all import/export operations, supporting smooth cargo movement and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, organize, and maintain import/export documentation in compliance with Ethiopian regulations
  • Apply for permits via Ethiopia Single Window system
  • Draft commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, insurance and inspection certificates
  • Coordinate logistics with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs agents, and banks
  • Track shipments and update management on status
  • Monitor and control import costs including duties and demurrage
  • Manage foreign exchange approvals and banking documents such as L/Cs and CADs
  • Maintain accurate records and generate operational reports
  • Support the Import/Export Manager and Logistics Head with general assistance
