About the Role

The Laboratory Technologist delivers accurate diagnostic services at a medium clinic, overseeing specimen management, testing, quality assurance, biosafety, and integration of HIV and other essential diagnostics while supervising staff and maintaining compliance with national standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests
  • Collect, label, process, store, transport, and dispose specimens
  • Provide diagnostic support for communicable and non-communicable diseases
  • Conduct HIV testing services following national protocols
  • Ensure quality control and participate in external quality assessment programs
  • Develop and update SOPs and lab manuals
  • Maintain accurate records and manage reagents and supplies
  • Supervise laboratory personnel and provide training
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate diagnostics
