The Laboratory Technologist delivers accurate diagnostic services at a medium clinic, overseeing specimen management, testing, quality assurance, biosafety, and integration of HIV and other essential diagnostics while supervising staff and maintaining compliance with national standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests
- Collect, label, process, store, transport, and dispose specimens
- Provide diagnostic support for communicable and non-communicable diseases
- Conduct HIV testing services following national protocols
- Ensure quality control and participate in external quality assessment programs
- Develop and update SOPs and lab manuals
- Maintain accurate records and manage reagents and supplies
- Supervise laboratory personnel and provide training
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate diagnostics
