The Market System Development Officer will implement the EMPOWER Project’s MSD framework in Yabelo, Ethiopia, driving market integration, capacity building, and financial inclusion for SMEs, VSLAs, and women and youth while coordinating stakeholder engagement and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market mapping and value chain assessments to identify opportunities for SMEs and VSLAs
- Translate strategic guidance into field-level actions and manage implementation of MSD framework
- Engage with private sector partners, suppliers, buyers and financial institutions to build market linkages
- Provide business coaching, financial literacy training and loan coordination support to local enterprises
- Coordinate project milestones, report progress and ensure compliance with donor timelines
