The Senior Accountant will manage comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring accurate records, compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, and support for budgeting and audit processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records using Peachtree (Sage 50)
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Ensure inventory and cost accounting accuracy
- Submit VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, pension, and other statutory returns via ERCA/eTax system
- Support budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Mentor junior accounting staff
