About the Role

The Protection (GBV Response) Officer supports Oxfam’s Women and Girls Friendly Space program in Gambella, ensuring safe, inclusive environments, delivering psychosocial support, managing GBV referrals, and engaging communities to reduce vulnerability and promote gender‑based violence prevention.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments for protection activities in camp settings
  • Implement and monitor WGFS safety measures
  • Engage women, girls, and communities in planning and implementing GBV prevention activities
  • Facilitate psychosocial support sessions and life‑skills workshops
  • Serve as GBV focal point for referrals to specialized services
  • Maintain confidential referral database and documentation
  • Support community feedback mechanisms and adapt programming accordingly
