The Staff Credentialing and Privileging Coordinator ensures that all medical personnel are legally qualified and compliant with accreditation standards, managing their credentials and privileges to support safe patient care.
Responsibilities
- Verify medical staff qualifications and approvals of clinical privileges
- Administer initial application and periodic re‑credentialing processes
- Update and process procedure‑based clinical privileges
- Schedule, prepare agendas and minutes for MEC and Credentials Committee
- Maintain compliance with TJC, national QA committee and state health regulations
- Manage confidential practitioner profiles in credentialing software
- Serve as primary contact between staff, administration and billing for enrollment
