A Junior Health and Safety Engineer will support the implementation of HSE programs across construction projects, conduct inspections, assist in risk assessments, maintain safety records, and promote a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and maintaining HSE policies at project sites
- Conduct routine site inspections and report hazards
- Support risk assessments and ensure control measures are followed
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures and regulations
- Participate in toolbox talks, meetings, and safety awareness programs
- Help investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
- Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, and incident logs
- Support emergency preparedness activities such as fire drills
- Ensure PPE usage by employees and subcontractors
- Report safety observations and recommend corrective actions
Skills Required
Basic knowledge of occupational health and safety principlesUnderstanding of Ethiopian construction safety regulations and standardsAbility to identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actionsGood communication and interpersonal skillsStrong observation and attention to detailReport preparation and record keepingMicrosoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Teamwork and site work adaptability
