About the Role

The Financial Inclusion Officer will lead the design and implementation of inclusive digital finance interventions across Ethiopia, focusing on climate‑responsive, Sharia‑compliant products, VSLA digitization, and stakeholder partnership building to increase access for women and youth.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of financial inclusion programming through capacity building, market assessments, and intervention design
  • Build relationships with financial institutions, fintechs, regulators and partners
  • Design Intervention Concept Notes integrating gender, climate and conflict sensitivity
  • Lead VSLA establishment, expansion and digitization in Oromia zones
  • Develop climate-responsive financial products with partner FIs
  • Strengthen agent networks and consumer protection systems
  • Monitor progress, identify risks and ensure compliance with Mercy Corps policies
