WASH Officer

About the Role

The WASH Officer leads the design, implementation and monitoring of water, sanitation and hygiene interventions in emergency and development settings, ensuring compliance with humanitarian standards while building local capacity through training and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor WASH activities in health facilities and communities
• Conduct needs assessments and WASHFIT studies
• Develop BoQ and procurement plans for WASH projects
• Supervise construction and rehabilitation of water supply, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards and humanitarian guidelines
• Design water and civil infrastructures using AutoCAD, Civil3D, Ephanet, WaterGEMS and ArcGIS
• Coordinate training workshops for staff and community partners
• Collaborate with health, nutrition and WASH teams to align activities with program objectives
