The SBCC Officer plans, implements, monitors, and documents behavior change communication interventions aimed at preventing malnutrition among refugee and host communities in Ethiopia. The role supports EU action objectives by strengthening community awareness, promoting early detection of malnutrition, and integrating nutrition messaging across health, WASH, and nutrition programs.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement nutrition-focused SBCC plans aligned with EU objectives
- Develop culturally appropriate messages and IEC materials
- Facilitate community outreach and participation activities
- Support early case detection of malnutrition and CMAM surge implementation
- Build capacity of health workers and volunteers in SBCC practices
- Integrate SBCC with health, WASH, and nutrition interventions
- Monitor, report, and learn from SBCC activities
- Coordinate with government and partners to ensure alignment with national strategies
