About the Role

The Finance Officer oversees all financial operations of LWF programs in Ethiopia, ensuring accurate record‑keeping, compliance with donor and national regulations, and effective budgeting and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for efficient financial management of program activities
  • Assist Project Coordinator in supervising project financial activities
  • Support finance policies, priorities, procedures and guidelines for all LWF programs
  • Prepare regular fund requests with program staff
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and proper documentation
  • Participate in preparing periodic working budgets
  • Maintain accurate financial records and timely reports
  • Code disbursements and receipts according to procedure
  • Summarize disbursements by cost centers and account codes
  • Manage petty cash, perform surprise cash counts
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements
  • Supervise store keepers and enforce store procedures
  • Register project fixed assets properly
  • Prepare monthly payroll for casual workers
  • Ensure taxes are deducted and paid on time
  • Assist in developing funding proposals with program staff
  • Provide orientation and training to finance staff
