The Pharmacy Head will lead and manage the pharmacy team to ensure efficient operations, high-quality patient care, and compliance with regulations while overseeing inventory, dispensing, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop the pharmacy team
- Oversee drug dispensers, reception staff, cashiers, shelf stockers, registers, and other pharmacy personnel
- Organize pharmacy operations for accurate medication identification and dispensing
- Prepare and execute prescription orders for collection or delivery
- Order pharmacy supplies and manage inventory levels daily
- Implement best practices for storage and handling of prescription drugs and controlled substances
- Verify prescriptions issued by physicians before dispensing
- Provide guidance on medication use, dosage, and side effects to customers
- Maintain approved drug lists and monitor medication expiry dates
- Coordinate pharmacy activities with clinical and administrative departments
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally
- Provide induction, orientation, and training for new staff
- Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations
- Prepare annual departmental plans and budget allocations
- Submit regular departmental reports
