The Materials Engineer Coordinator ensures that all materials, spare parts and equipment used at Kurmuk Gold Mine meet engineering and operational standards through specification review, technical evaluation and coordination with procurement, maintenance and warehouse teams.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify technical specifications of materials before procurement
- Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, procurement and warehouse teams for material selection and availability
- Conduct technical evaluations of suppliers’ materials and ensure compliance with operational standards
- Assist in material standardization and cataloging within the ERP system
- Monitor material quality and support inspection activities
- Provide technical support on material compatibility, performance and lifecycle management
- Support inventory optimization by identifying interchangeable and critical spare parts
- Prepare technical reports, material analysis and recommendations for management
- Ensure compliance with company quality, safety and environmental standards
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management and reliability
