Geologist (Coal Mining)

About the Role

The Geologist will lead geological investigations, evaluate coal deposits, and support safe and efficient mining operations through mapping, modeling, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and analysis of coal deposits
• Plan, supervise, and monitor coal exploration and drilling activities
• Interpret geological data and prepare geological models and resource estimates
• Assess coal quality, reserves, and resource potential
• Provide geological guidance and support to mining operations
• Prepare geological reports, maps, cross-sections, and technical documentation
• Monitor mining activities and provide recommendations for efficient coal extraction
• Coordinate with mining engineers and other technical teams
• Maintain geological databases and records
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Support mine planning and long-term resource development activities
