Supports operation, monitoring, and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution and optimal crop performance.
Responsibilities
- Monitor irrigation systems including pumps, motors, filters, and canals
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before operation
- Regulate water levels in canals, reservoirs, and storage
- Track pump performance using ammeters and visual checks
- Ensure proper functioning of sand and screen filters
- Prepare fertilizer stock solutions per approved recipes
- Maintain availability of fertilizers and chemicals for fertigation
- Monitor and regulate fertigation operations
- Implement preventive maintenance plans for infrastructure
- Perform routine cleaning of canals, suction pools, and reservoirs
- Identify malfunctions and coordinate repairs
- Record operational data such as water consumption, electricity and diesel usage, fertilizer consumption, equipment downtime
- Maintain detailed irrigation schedules and performance records
- Archive technical documents including designs and drawings
- Assist in reviewing designs, maps, survey reports and technical drawings
- Analyze environmental conditions for irrigation planning
- Support development of efficient irrigation methods
- Participate in surveying to establish reference points and elevations
- Supervise installation, repair, and maintenance works
- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment
- Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
