A senior storekeeper oversees all aspects of inventory management in a warehouse, ensuring accurate records, optimal stock levels, and smooth logistical operations while supervising junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and record incoming materials and supplies
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or ERP systems
- Organize storage area for efficient retrieval and safety
- Issue supplies based on authorized requests
- Monitor stock levels and notify management of low stock or discrepancies
- Conduct regular stock‑taking and audits
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the store
- Coordinate with suppliers, procurement and logistics departments
- Maintain records of stock transfers, returns and wastage
- Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies
