The Surge Medical Doctor delivers emergency and general clinical care in high‑patient inflow or humanitarian crisis settings, stabilizes critical cases, mentors staff, and maintains essential medical services at the assigned health center or hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical care in emergency, outpatient, and inpatient settings
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical cases including severe infections, trauma, and complications
- Support life‑saving procedures with specialist staff
- Mentor and supervise nurses, medical officers, and junior staff
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and record‑keeping
- Implement infection prevention and control practices per IMC standards
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities
- Coordinate patient referrals to higher‑level facilities
- Contribute to quality improvement and clinical audits
