About the Role

The Head of Internal Audit will lead a risk‑based internal audit function across ILRI, providing independent assurance, advisory services, and strategic oversight to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal controls throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of risk‑based audit plans and oversee execution across all cycles
  • Provide independent advisory to AFRC and Director General on governance and risk matters
  • Develop and maintain audit policies, procedures and SOPs
  • Ensure timely escalation and monitoring of high‑risk issues and remedial actions
  • Align audit priorities with ILRI’s strategic objectives
  • Lead capacity development and training for the audit team
  • Safeguard independence and objectivity in line with IIA standards
  • Collaborate with CGIAR stakeholders for coordinated assurance
