The Head of Internal Audit will lead a risk‑based internal audit function across ILRI, providing independent assurance, advisory services, and strategic oversight to strengthen governance, risk management, and internal controls throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of risk‑based audit plans and oversee execution across all cycles
- Provide independent advisory to AFRC and Director General on governance and risk matters
- Develop and maintain audit policies, procedures and SOPs
- Ensure timely escalation and monitoring of high‑risk issues and remedial actions
- Align audit priorities with ILRI’s strategic objectives
- Lead capacity development and training for the audit team
- Safeguard independence and objectivity in line with IIA standards
- Collaborate with CGIAR stakeholders for coordinated assurance
