Lead the strategic and technical direction of financial inclusion initiatives under the USDA Ethiopia Partnership, designing financing mechanisms, engaging institutions, managing staff and monitoring implementation to expand access to finance for smallholder farmers.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and technical direction of financial inclusion initiatives for smallholder farmers
- Design innovative financing mechanisms and inclusive financial models
- Conduct market analysis and identify financing gaps
- Engage financial institutions to reduce barriers
- Support development of credit, savings, insurance products
- Promote financial literacy and responsible borrowing practices
- Strengthen governance and financial management systems
- Supervise Access to Finance staff
- Develop work plans, budgets and monitor implementation
- Collaborate with MEAL teams for monitoring and evaluation
- Build partnerships with financial institutions, cooperatives, NGOs and development actors
