The Archive Officer preserves company information by organizing, cataloguing, and maintaining both physical and digital archival materials, providing user assistance, and ensuring proper preservation and retrieval systems are in place.
Responsibilities
- Organize archival records and develop classification systems
- Acquire, process, and catalogue new archival materials
- Manage check-in/check-out of items and maintain reserve lists
- Provide reference services to users
- Authenticate and appraise historical documents
- Create and maintain electronic archives and databases
- Preserve records through media copying
- Initiate discarding of inactive files
