The MEL Officer will design, implement, and strengthen monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems across Eyu Ethiopia’s programmes, ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement of eye health interventions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen MEAL frameworks, indicators, and performance plans
- Design and standardise data collection tools, reporting templates, and monitoring methodologies
- Ensure compliance with organisational standards, donor requirements, and national reporting frameworks
- Support integration of digital information systems for programme monitoring
- Coordinate routine programme data collection and maintain secure databases
- Conduct data quality assessments and audits
- Monitor implementation against work plans and KPIs
- Analyse performance data to identify gaps and opportunities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and donor reports and dashboards
- Coordinate baseline, midline, endline, and other evaluations
- Document lessons learned and best practices
- Facilitate learning events and review meetings
- Build capacity of staff on MEL concepts and tools
- Provide technical support for indicator development and data utilisation
- Promote a culture of evidence generation and continuous learning
- Collaborate with programme, research, finance, and operations teams
- Liaise with government institutions, donors, academic partners, and implementing organisations
- Contribute to proposal development with results frameworks and MEL plans
