The role involves leading a detailed assessment of housing, land, and property rights in Ura Refugee Settlement, integrating conflict sensitivity and gender analysis to inform humanitarian programming and protect vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive HLP due diligence assessment in Ura Refugee Settlement and surrounding host communities
- Analyze legal, customary, and administrative governance systems related to land and property
- Identify and assess risks such as land disputes, eviction, tenure insecurity, and gender-based discrimination
- Examine conflict dynamics over resources and their impact on women and vulnerable groups
- Evaluate barriers to women's access to HLP rights and propose gender-transformative solutions
- Review existing dispute resolution and grievance mechanisms for inclusiveness
- Produce draft and final assessment reports with actionable recommendations
- Lead validation workshops with EWLA, consortium partners, and stakeholders
