About the Role

The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Zonal Officer will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of MHPSS interventions for returnees and host communities in Jimma Zone, ensuring quality care, capacity building, and protection standards are upheld.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement MHPSS activities in target areas
  • Conduct psychosocial awareness sessions and psychoeducation initiatives
  • Facilitate Psychological First Aid, lay counselling, and community-based support
  • Identify vulnerable individuals and facilitate confidential referrals to service providers
  • Provide technical support, mentoring, and supervision to volunteers
  • Organize trainings on PFA, CBPSS, protection principles, safeguarding, and community awareness
  • Conduct wellbeing assessments for beneficiaries, staff, and volunteers
  • Support staff and volunteer care initiatives
  • Develop activity work plans and prepare regular reports
  • Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, and humanitarian standards are maintained
  • Coordinate with project staff, local authorities, health actors, and community structures
