The Disaster Risk Management Expert will lead emergency response initiatives, coordinate BDRT teams, conduct vulnerability assessments, and implement disaster preparedness and food security projects at the Addis Ababa regional level.
Responsibilities
- Execute DRM activities of the zonal branch
- Establish and deploy emergency BDRT & rescue teams
- Coordinate disaster responses at the zonal level
- Deploy and operate ambulances, provide first aid training
- Conduct vulnerability and rapid needs assessments
- Prepare project proposals for vulnerable populations
- Monitor ambulance services in Woreda branches
- Design mechanisms to address identified hazards
- Implement disaster preparedness and food security programs
- Report progress to senior DRM officials
