The role directs all aspects of emergency preparedness, rapid response, early recovery, and church-based resource mobilization within Ethiopia, ensuring compliance with international standards and effective coordination with government and humanitarian partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning for humanitarian aid and emergency response programs
- Develop and update emergency preparedness plans and early warning systems
- Coordinate rapid multi-sectoral responses within 96 hours of activation
- Manage grain banks, pre-positioned supplies, and church-based volunteer networks
- Ensure compliance with SPHERE, CHS, donor regulations, and safeguarding standards
- Advocate for humanitarian access and local resource mobilization
- Represent the organization in national and regional coordination mechanisms
- Oversee staff safety, security, and capacity development
