The Storekeeper manages inventory and supply chain activities for poultry parent stock, hatchery and training units, ensuring accurate recordkeeping, proper storage conditions, and timely availability of materials while enforcing FIFO, biosecurity, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all inputs, consumables, and equipment
- Receive, inspect, and verify materials against delivery notes or purchase orders
- Ensure proper storage of feed, vaccines, medicines, breeding equipment, and hatching supplies under required environmental conditions
- Monitor and report stock levels, usage rates, and reorder needs to supervisors
- Support procurement planning for breeding, hatchery and training center operations
- Implement FIFO and other inventory control systems
- Issue materials based on approved requests and maintain issuance records
- Conduct regular stocktaking and reconcile physical stock with records
- Maintain store hygiene, safety and biosecurity protocols
- Prepare inventory and stock reports for management review
