Senior Accountant

About the Role

Senior Accountant responsible for managing all accounting operations across headquarters and a remote construction site, preparing financial reports, tracking CAPEX, ensuring tax compliance, and implementing cost accounting systems in a manufacturing start‑up environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions for HQ and Afar site
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Develop and monitor project budgets for construction phase
• Implement cost accounting systems for production
• Track construction expenditures and asset capitalization
• Verify inventory with site managers
• Prepare financial reports for investors/banks
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Manage company cash flow
• Reconcile bank statements
• Process supplier payments and employee reimbursements
• Enforce internal control policies
• Assist in ERP implementation
• Train and supervise junior accounting staff
