The Shelter Nurse evaluates the health of shelter residents, administers first aid and medications, provides health education—including reproductive health for minors—and coordinates with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care within a shelter setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial medical assessments of shelter residents
- Provide daily health monitoring and first aid
- Manage chronic conditions and administer medications
- Educate beneficiaries on hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention and reproductive health
- Coordinate with mental health professionals for comprehensive care
- Accompany beneficiaries to medical appointments
- Respond to medical emergencies
- Ensure balanced meals and collaborate on meal planning
- Maintain medicine stock and documentation
- Provide monthly clinical status reports
