The WASH Officer will design, implement, and monitor water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions in schools and communities to improve access to safe facilities and promote healthy practices, ensuring compliance with national standards and safeguarding policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of WASH activities per project plans and donor requirements
- Coordinate design, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of WASH infrastructure
- Ensure gender-sensitive, disability-inclusive, child-friendly facilities
- Promote climate‑resilient and sustainable WASH solutions
- Develop and facilitate hygiene promotion campaigns
- Conduct awareness sessions on handwashing, sanitation, menstrual hygiene, water safety, and disease prevention
- Collaborate with education and protection teams for integrated implementation
- Monitor progress against indicators, conduct field visits, and report data
- Document lessons learned and prepare assessment reports
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, PSEA, and organizational policies
