About the Role

Provide frontline legal assistance to individuals held in Ethiopian police custody, ensuring their rights are protected while supporting documentation and monitoring processes within the criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary legal aid and counseling to individuals in police custody
• Conduct initial legal assessments and interview detainees
• Monitor detention conditions and report violations
• Assist in preparing bail applications, petitions, and pleadings
• Follow up on court hearings and liaise with police, investigators, and prosecutors
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records
