The Jr. Microbiologist will manage microbiology laboratory operations, ensuring instruments are calibrated, SOPs are followed, and analyses on raw materials, products, and environmental samples meet GMP standards while supporting audits and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure instruments have current SOPs
- Calibrate instruments as scheduled
- Prepare media and perform microbiological analyses on raw materials, water samples, finished products and stability samples
- Conduct environmental monitoring of manufacturing lines
- Disinfect, sterilize and dispose of used culture media
- Revise test procedures and specifications
- Maintain lab records and documentation
- Assist in technical troubleshooting and problem solving
- Manage inventory of culture media and related items
- Suggest quality system improvements
- Facilitate audits and document compliance reports
- Prepare monthly laboratory event reports
- Keep the laboratory clean and tidy
