The Import Technical Manager oversees all aspects of import operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, supplier coordination, logistics efficiency, and cost control for beauty products, dietary supplements, and related FMCG items.
Responsibilities
- Develop annual and quarterly import plans based on forecasts and inventory needs
- Coordinate schedules with Procurement, Sales, Marketing, and Warehouse
- Monitor shipment timelines from PO issuance through delivery
- Ensure compliance of imported beauty products and dietary supplements with Ethiopian regulations
- Maintain product registration certificates and permits
- Review and verify all import documentation
- Act as technical focal point for overseas suppliers
- Verify product specifications and resolve quality issues
- Coordinate customs clearance and resolve queries
- Manage logistics, freight, and inland transportation
- Prepare cost estimates and recommend savings
- Identify risks and develop contingency plans
- Prepare regular management reports
