The Welfare Officer leads technical direction for donkey and mule welfare across multiple regions, ensuring compliance with global and national standards while overseeing field-based assessments, data management, training support, and community-level interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership on equine welfare standards
- Oversee implementation of EARS-based welfare assessment tools and quality assurance
- Lead field data collection and manage caseload reporting systems
- Support CPD training in clinical care, dentistry, farriery, and harnessing
- Supervise alumni-led animal health and welfare interventions
- Contribute to evidence generation and continuous improvement of welfare approaches
