The Principal Business Analyst leads advanced market and economic analysis to shape procurement strategies and financing mechanisms for the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism, providing evidence-based recommendations to senior decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic, economic, and market analysis for APPM
- Provide senior-level analytical advice on procurement strategies and financing
- Generate actionable market intelligence reports
- Design and evaluate market-shaping interventions
- Develop procurement and financing models
- Analyze operational, financial, and management structures of APPM
- Utilize data on health commodities to support decisions
- Identify market barriers and produce forward-looking intelligence
- Model demand aggregation and supplier diversification
- Assess impact of procurement interventions
- Evaluate innovative financing mechanisms
- Serve as principal analytical advisor to the African Market Shaping Council
- Prepare policy briefs and decision-support documents
- Translate council recommendations into workplans
- Develop and maintain analytical models, dashboards, methodologies, and datasets
- Ensure accuracy and transparency of outputs
- Engage AU Member States, donors, and technical partners
- Represent APPM in technical discussions on procurement economics
- Provide analytical support for resource mobilization
