About the Role

The Safeguards Officer will spearhead human rights and social safeguard initiatives in Gambella National Park, providing training, monitoring, and grievance mechanisms while ensuring compliance with national and donor standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead social safeguard and human rights implementation in Gambella National Park
  • Train and coach field staff on grievance mechanisms
  • Support planning of Social Safeguard Plans and Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Monitor risks and design mitigation strategies
  • Conduct investigations of sensitive complaints
  • Ensure compliance with FPIC guidelines
  • Prepare reports for donors and partners
